The Business and Biodiversity Initiative is pleased to announce Wedderwill Wine Estate as our newest member company. The South African company produces award winning wines and olive oil, and is in the process of registering as an organic producer.

The company's focus on the preservation of biodiversity is helping to protect the unique Fynbos bushland. The clearing of alien species, monitoring of native plants, regeneration and rehabilitation programs of streams and the assessment of fire risk are all part of the companies biodiversity activities. Over 67% of the winery is either rehabilitated of in the process of rehabilitation. The Cape Flora Fynbos bushland is extremely rare, only occuring on the western cape of South Africa, and rich in biodiversity.
