Volkswagen has published an article about their commitment to biodiversity with the German news service, Umweltdialog:

"Only in the fewest branches of the economy is the connection to biological diversity immediately visible.  Ultimately, of course, all resources are taken from nature. Thus, the conservation of flora and fauna is no longer an issue to just for conservationists, but is also a factor for companies. The Initiative "Business for Biodiversity", which began in 2008, will foster dialog on this. Volkswagen's example shows what the handling of biological diversity can look like in an industrial company."
