Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings Publishes CSR Report On Natural Capital

The Japanese bank Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings, member of our network since its establishment, has just released its CSR Report 2013. What is especially noteworthy is that it comprises an extra feature booklet dedicated to "natural capital".

For the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group, led by Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, it provides reader-friendly information on the company's "Action Guidelines for Preserving Biodiversity" as well as a lineup of financial instruments, services, and initiatives related to natural capital. It also briefly reports on how the company implements the Leadership Declaration of 'Biodiversity in Good Company'.

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings became a signatory to the Natural Capital Declaration advocated by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development “Rio+20” held in Rio de Janeiro in June 2012.
