Final report of TEEB Study presented in Nagoya

This Wednesday, 20 October 2010, the final report of TEEB study was presented in Nagoya. The report ‘Mainstreaming the Economics of Nature’ is the synthesis of all previously published studies of The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB).

The report was presented on the margins of the 10th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP10) in Nagoya, Japan.

TEEB is the long-awaited equivalent to the Stern Report for the field of Biodiversity. It provides and economic evaluation of the use of ecosystem services. With the help of over 200 individual analyses the study denominates the value the various services nature provides humans with and suggests how these can be accounted for in political and corporate decision making processes.
