The most recent newsletter from the CBD Secretariat presents exemplary corporate activities and initiatives from and with the business world that are actively contributing to the protection of biological diversity. 

To achieve the goal of sustainable development and to implement the Convention on Biodiversity, it is absolutely necessary to sensitise as many as people as possible about the urgency of protecting natural habitats and species.  Incorporating the business world also plays an integral role and presents itself as an excellent opportunity.

In the current CBD Newsletter “Business.2010”, specific approaches from the business world are presented – connecting economic success with responsible business practices. Alongside the exemplary corporate activities, other initiatives have also been introduced that are actively contributing to the Business and Biodiversity field. The ‘Biodiversity in Good Company’ Initiative is one of the leading players here and is paving the way for other similar initiatives (To read more in go to p. 42 in the Newsletter).
