Why and how we commit ourselves
Nature is our most valuable asset. Investing in its health, regeneration, and improvement creates prosperity beyond what can be extracted from it or built upon it. It is therefore the key to preserving – and improving – our way of life, across economies, sectors, and continents.
The Landbanking Group is a Munich-based nature fintech company dedicated to halting species loss and the decline of nature and promoting lasting global prosperity.
The 50-person international team, consisting of financial product experts, scientists, and technology experts, together with strong partners from business and academia, forms the basis for developing sustainable technology and financial solutions and thus transforming land-use decisions globally.
Nature Equity is an innovative approach to capital markets. As a novel investment vehicle, "Nature Equity" combines the principles of natural capital accounting with market economics to reward land users and investors for improvements to nature.
In other words, every land user should be rewarded for their positive land-use decisions, enabling companies, banks, insurance companies, and investors to invest in natural capital.
For this purpose, The Landbanking Group has developed a platform for natural capital management called Landler.io. The technology is based on AI models and satellite data that provide area-specific information: biodiversity, water, soil health, and carbon.
This data is summarized in a so-called natural capital account. This forms the basis of a contractual relationship that allows those with natural capital needs and those with natural capital supplies to enter into a fair, transparent, and resilient contractual relationship and account for investments into natural capital as assets instead of costs, creating real corporate value.
