Bee friendly UG

Why and how we engage

Biodiversity is no longer a niche topic – it is the foundation of all life, and therefore of all economic activity. Bee friendly was founded in 2021 with the goal of contributing to the preservation of biodiversity not just symbolically, but measurably. We believe that entrepreneurial thinking and ecological responsibility are not contradictions – in fact, they complement each other. Our vision is to support companies of all sizes in making real, impactful contributions to biodiversity – data-driven, creative, and effective.

Our most important tool is the Insector – a visual, AI-powered insect monitoring system that detects and classifies pollinators and insects on company premises or agricultural land. This animal-friendly approach provides scientifically validated biodiversity data that helps companies make their measures visible, track progress, and improve them over time. Rather than relying on symbolism alone, we enable robust biodiversity management that can be integrated into ESG strategies and sustainability reporting.

But Bee friendly goes beyond technology. Through workshops and events, employees build nesting habitats, raised beds and sandariums, plant wildflower meadows, or unseal paved surfaces – making biodiversity tangible and turning teams into part of the transformation. Our approach is participative and solution-oriented, and we place great emphasis on collaboration with research institutions, agriculture, and municipalities to embed biodiversity not only locally but also structurally.

We see our responsibility in creating knowledge, designing habitats, and embedding biodiversity as a permanent element in business decisions. That’s why we joined Biodiversity in Good Company in 2025. We aim to actively contribute to the network, share experiences, and help establish new standards. In the coming two years, we plan to:

• Systematically integrate biodiversity monitoring into the value chains of the food, construction, and agricultural sectors,

• Link biodiversity data with strategic goals under ESRS E4, SDG 15, and supply chain regulations,

• Develop scalable biodiversity action plans for SMEs and farms,

• Identify and enhance biodiversity-promoting areas in agriculture to strengthen natural enemies of pests and reduce pesticide use,

• Establish biodiversity as a core element of corporate culture and agricultural practice.

Our motivation is clear: we want biodiversity to become part of the DNA of modern businesses – not just a topic for environmental departments.
