REWE Group withdraws herbicide glyphosate from its DIY stores range

The 350 toom Baumarkt DIY (Do-it-yourself) stores of REWE Group will no longer be selling products containing glyphosate by 30 September 2015 at the latest. As of 11 May, the stores will no longer be able to reorder products of this kind. toom Baumarkt DIY stores had already started the conversion of their range at the end of 2013 and withdrew about 60 per cent of the products containing glyphosate from sale. As an alternative, toom Baumarkt DIY stores offer their customers more ecologically friendly products. With this step, toom Baumarkt DIY stores pre-empt the upcoming decision on the extension of the EU approval for glyphosate.
