Multistakeholder-Workshop on practices and perspectives for sustainable mineral extraction
On 7 March a workshop on practices and perspectives for sustainable mineral extraction oranized by the The German Building Materials Association (bbs) took place.
Participants were representatives from the European Commission, the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation, Union and Envionmental NGOs. Amongst others, the economic importance of mineral extraction for Germany and Europe over the long term, the review of the Natura 2000 guidance documents, and the value of cooperations regarding biodiversity in quarrying and mining were discussed.
