In cooperation with the Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany at the request of German Federal Environment Ministry, the 'Biodiversity in Good Company' Initiative developed and published its Corporate Biodiversity Management Handbook as a practical implementation guide. It offers a theoretical background and a number of best practice examples for the precise implementation of corporate biodiversity protection.
There are are interactive and open-to-the public checklists that environmental managers can use to run a biodiversity protection check for their own company.
The following checklists should serve as an implementation tool in combination with the Corporate Biodiversity Management Handbook – A guide for practical implementation. The detailed checklists are a useful addition and reinforcement for the handbook. Together they offer ideas on individual implementation possibilities for the recommendations described in the handbook, while orienting themselves on the various corporate fields of action, each with specific direct (e.g. soil sealing) and indirect (e.g. supply chain) impact factors on biological diversity. The German organisation B.A.U.M. (Bundesdeutscher Arbeitskreis für Umweltbewusstes Management) developed these tools.
For technical reasons, the checklists are currently only available in German as interactive PDF files. If you are interested in an English version, please contact us.
