The Quarry Life Award received high recognition on 26th March by being accepted as official project of the United Nations (UN) Decade on Biodiversity. 

The award ceremony took place in Frankfurt during the Dialogue Forum "Unternehmen Biologische Vielfalt 2020" (in English: "Enterprise Biological Diversity 2020") organized by the German Federal Ministry of Environment. The award of the UN Decade on Biodiversity is given to projects that exceptionally promote the conservation of biodiversity.

Through the Quarry Life Award HeidelbergCement shows its high commitment for biodiversity in Germany and worldwide. This high commitment has also convinced the jury members of the UN Decade contest.
