German beech forests play a major role in biodiversity, forest and climate protection. For this reason, ForestFinance and B.A.U.M. e.V initiated the project “Wild Beech” near Hümmel in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2011. While at the beginning only companies and organisations could contribute to this project, it has just recently been opened for private persons.

Now everyone can help to protect this forest even with a few euros. The project was co-initiated by German Forest Ranger and best-selling author Peter Wohlleben. The website <link http: www.wildebuche.de _blank external-link-new-window externen link in neuem>www.wildebuche.de is available in German, English version to follow.
