South Africa's Biodiversity Highlighted

The richness of South Africa’s biodiversity has been highlighted by scientists, who recently discovered 18 new species of previously unrecorded invertebrates in an eight day survey.

Until recently the nature park was only surveyed on an ad hoc basis. Researchers expect to find as many new species again, if the survey were to be repeated.

The southern tip of South Africa is an area rich in biodiversity, and is one of six flora kingdoms. Member companies Wedderwill and Oakvalley Wines have a number of activities restoring native plant species in the area.
