Detailed Checklist 9 – Storage of Products / By-products / Working, Auxiliary and other Materials

The following checklists have been divided into two sections, an analysis and a tips list.

Determine the impact your company could have on biodiversity through the storage of products / by-products / working, auxiliary and other materials. In storing materials and parts the dangers related to the environment and the surrounding biodiversity is directly connected with properties of the stored materials. One should pay particular attention to whether the materials are flammable, water-polluting or hazardous to one's health.

The analysis checklist ( undefinedC 9-1) with its general indicators and evaluation criteria will help you determine the relevant aspects for your company. The checklist should also enable you to describe your company’s influence more precisely.

Depending on the relevance for your company, you will be able to use the tips checklist (undefinedC 9-2) to gain new input and ideas on how to adjust your biodiversity management system.

Please be aware that a large portion of the issues addressed in Detailed Checklist 9 (especially storage of hazardous materials) is already comprehensively regulated by the state. This checklist is not and should not be used as a summary of the many and different legal and regulatory provisions. It should prod to additional tools and aspects that are not completely or exactly regulated, and are therefore within the discretion of the company to act upon.

How the Checklists work

With the checklists' various fields of action you will be able to assess your company's situation.  For each field of action, there is a quick check along with multiple other detailed checklists.  Fill in the relevant checklists one after the other.  At the end you can print out and send or email us the completed questionnaire.

Note:

The entries are meant to aid you in your self-evaluation and will not be saved or used by us or any other third party organisation.
